86th Legislature

In addition to a renewed effort to address non-medical switching, the Patient Access for a Healthy Texas Coalition will continue to monitor policy and legislation impacting with a focus on public policy and legislation that reduces or eliminates barriers and hurdles that patients face in obtaining their doctor-prescribed medicines.

Prior to the 86th Legislature, which convened in January 2019, lawmakers examined the impacts of changes in prescription drug coverage and drug formularies on patients, particularly those with chronic conditions. This work, referred to as an interim study, helps guide lawmakers' work during this legislative session.
